Raj George

President & CEO

Raj GeorgeRaj George is the President and CEO of Mughal Ventures LLC and the Executive Director of the Mughal Foundation, Inc. Mr. George was previously the founding Director of the Cal State East Bay Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a partnership between the U. S. Small Business Administration and the California State University based in Oakland, California. As Director, he was also the creator and lead organizer for Cal State East Bay SBDC's internationally recognized annual Economic Summit conference series, focused on building sustainable, socially responsible small businesses.

Mr. George has extensive experience in business development and brand strategy, including working with the Downtown Alliance (Business Improvement District for Lower Manhattan), Moët Hennessy USA, Diageo, REDF, the Penn Center for Community Partnerships, the Hispanic Federation, the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), Andrea Rosen Gallery, GEN ART, Medsite Publishing (WebMD), and Livet Reichard Company, Inc.

Mr. George has served as an advisor to the Intuit Small Business Center and Bay Area Development Company. He has been a member of the PG&E Community Advisory Group and Turner Construction/Port of Oakland Mentor Protégé Committee. He was selected to the East Bay Business Times annual "40 Under 40" list of emerging business leaders in 2006. He has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and events, including McKinsey & Company's Non-Profit Engagement Day and Columbia Business School's Annual Marketing Conference. Mr. George recently joined the University of Pennsylvania James Brister Society, focused on supporting and promoting a culturally diverse University community.

Mr. George received the inaugural U. S. Small Business Administration Pinnacle Award in 2007, recognizing the Cal State East Bay SBDC as an organization that best exemplified outstanding partnerships with the SBA, small business resource partners, and the community at large. Program partners included Apple, Inc., Bay Area Equity Fund at JPMorgan, Chevron Corporation, Cisco Systems, Inc., Citibank, City of Oakland, County of Alameda GSA, Fast Company, IDEO, McKinsey & Company, Microsoft Corporation, Pacific Gas & Electric Company, the Port of Oakland, Symantec Corporation, and the United Nations Global Compact.

Mr. George earned his B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA in Brand Strategy from Columbia Business School.

Irene Hwang

Architect + Designer

Irene Hwang combines the best of graphics, editorial, and creative problem solving to create superior, contextually appropriate visual communication systems for projects.

Ms. Hwang earned her B.A. in International Relations and Art History from the University of Pennsylvania and her Masters in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Caroline Szeto

Creative Director

Caroline Szeto brings over ten years of creative insight and design expertise spanning web and print media. Ms. Szeto creates brand identities that truly capture the essence of a company, and designs user experiences that are pleasurable and usable.

Ms. Szeto earned her B.A. in Psychology and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.



super banjo Banjo is a seven year old beagle mix living in New York City and Seoul, South Korea. He enjoys traveling, swimming, chewing pens, chasing squirrels, and playing with his friends at the Carl Schurz Small Dog Run. He was born in Tennessee, and moved to New York through the North Shore Animal League. He attended Biscuits & Bath Puppy School, and works as a certified therapy dog and actor.
